Clean up and understand log retention

Email logs grow over time. SMTPPai lets you delete entries manually and also cleans old rows automatically based on your retention setting.

Delete selected or all

  1. Open SMTPPai → Email Log.
  2. Select rows and delete them, or use Delete all when you intentionally want a clean slate (for example after staging tests).

Deleting log rows does not delete your connections or settings.

Automatic cleanup

SMTPPai schedules a daily cleanup job (mailpai_smtp_log_cleanup). It removes log entries older than the number of days set under Settings → Keep logs for (days). The default on a fresh install is 14 days.

How to choose a retention period

  • Shorter (7–14 days) — better privacy, smaller database, enough for recent troubleshooting.
  • Longer — useful if you investigate delivery disputes weeks later; combine with care if you also store bodies.

Change the value under Email log settings.
