How to Configure Mailchimp Transactional (Mandrill)

In SMTPPai this provider is labeled Mailchimp Transactional (Mandrill). You connect with the Transactional API key from Mandrill settings.

When to choose Mandrill

Use this option if your transactional sending already runs through Mailchimp Transactional / Mandrill.

Prerequisites

  1. Mailchimp Transactional (Mandrill) enabled on your Mailchimp account
  2. Sending domain / from address configured for Mandrill
  3. API key from Mandrill settings

Open SMTPPai

  1. SMTPPai → Dashboard → Add connection
  2. Click Mailchimp Transactional (Mandrill)

Field-by-field setup

Connection name

Example: “Mandrill transactional”.

From name / From email

Must be allowed by your Mandrill sending domain setup.

API key

  1. Open Mailchimp Transactional → Settings → SMTP & API.
  2. Create or copy your API key.
  3. Paste into SMTPPai’s API key field.

Credential storage

Database or MAILPAI_SMTP_API_KEY in wp-config.php.

Save and test

Save → Test → Email Log. Check Mandrill outbound activity if the message is accepted but not delivered.

Common failures

  • Using a Marketing API key instead of Transactional / Mandrill key
  • From domain not configured for Mandrill
