Elastic Email connects with one API key. Delivery quality depends heavily on verifying your sending domain with SPF and DKIM.
When to choose Elastic Email
Choose Elastic Email if you already manage domains there and want WordPress to send over their HTTP API.
Prerequisites
- Elastic Email account
- Domain verified under Settings → Domains
- API key with Send HTTP permission
Open SMTPPai
- SMTPPai → Dashboard → Add connection
- Click Elastic Email
Field-by-field setup
Connection name
Example: “Elastic Email WP”.
From name / From email
From must use a domain verified here: Elastic Email → Settings → Domains. Unverified senders are often blocked or rewritten in ways that hurt inbox placement.
API key
- Open Elastic Email → Settings → API.
- Create a key with Send HTTP permission.
- Paste into SMTPPai’s API key field.
Credential storage
Database or MAILPAI_SMTP_API_KEY.
Save and test
Save → Test. If the test says sent but nothing arrives, check spam/junk, confirm the recipient is not suppressed in Elastic Email, and review Activity in the Elastic Email dashboard.
Common failures
- Domain not verified (SPF/DKIM missing)
- API key without Send HTTP permission
