On SMTPPai → Settings you will find Delete all plugin data when uninstalling. This controls whether removing the plugin also wipes SMTPPai’s stored data.
When to enable it
- You are permanently removing SMTPPai from a site and do not want connection settings or logs left behind.
- You are cleaning a staging site after tests.
When to leave it off
- You might reinstall soon and want connections/routes preserved.
- You are only temporarily deactivating the plugin.
Steps
- Open SMTPPai → Settings.
- Check or uncheck Delete all plugin data when uninstalling.
- Save.
- Only then use Plugins → Deactivate → Delete if you truly intend to remove the plugin.
What “plugin data” means in practice
When uninstall cleanup runs (via SMTPPai’s uninstall hook), it removes SMTPPai’s options and log data associated with the plugin — connections, routes, backup choice, settings, and the email log table content as implemented by the uninstall routine. It does not delete unrelated WordPress content (posts, pages, users).
Tip: Before a destructive uninstall on production, export any notes you need from the Email Log, and write down provider credentials stored only in SMTPPai if you are not keeping them in wp-config.php.
